Parents and friends love us, they do,
Despite their bars and fears, they try,
But with their doubts, they hurt us too,
When they tell us that we can’t fly.
Giving value to what they say,
Even with the most graceful flight,
We hide in shame our wings away,
The ugly twist that proves them right.
Not all of One, or Men, subside,
Some see these views for what they are,
Find your own truths, find your own stride,
And fly away, but not too far.
